Atlantis Resort Review: An Amazing Find

From The Guest Writer Philip:

I recently traved to the Bahamas where I stayed at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my entire life. From the mysterious underwater tunnels, to the adrenaline pumping waterslides, the Atlantis resort was a spectacular place. In the following parts of this review I will go over the restaurants, entertainment, attractions, and anything else you might ever want to know.

Accommodation:

The Harborside: I stayed at the Harborside which is near the Marina. The Harborside is one of the most spacious resorts in the Atlantis. It is not the most luxurious but is great for larger groups.

The Reef: The newest of the resorts at the Atlantis, the Reef is the most luxurious and also very expensive. The rooms are beautiful and look very comfortable.

The Cove: One of the most modern buildings of the Atlantis, you are close to everything if you stay here. Only a couple minutes walk to the beach and you’re just as close to the slides!

Dining:

Buffets:

The Mosaic-  A nice buffet restaurant  with a beautiful atmosphere. The Mosaic has excellent food and a good amount of variety. The atmosphere and the design of the restaurant was extraordinary. The only cons to the Mosaic is that it is expensive (but so is all the food at the Atlantis) and that it didn’t have that big of a selection as I had hoped. 9/10

The Marketplace- This buffet had more of a selection and just as good food although the environment of this buffet was more family oriented and louder and busier. Though if you choose to go here I suggest that you try the sushi. It was great. 8/10

Casual Dining:

Bimini Road: A great place for a family, this restaurant is fun to be at. Live music is played there and it gives the restaurant a vibrant feel. The food was good and it is definetely worth it to try this place out. But be forewarned, when they say its “mildly” spicy, its more like VERY spicy. 8/10

The Point: A nice place to stop and eat if you’re at the beach. It provides shade and good food and a relaxed atmosphere. 7.5/10

The Lagoon Bar and Grill: Another great place to stop for lunch if you’re close to it is the Lagoon Bar and Grill. It is a beautiful place and its roof is a giant “seashell”. Very good food and I recommend the sandwiches for they were exceptional. 8.5/10

Quick Food:

Marina Pizzaria: If you’re from New York like me, theres no place better for pizza than where you live. The pizza here didnt impress me at all and it was very medeocre. 5/10

Entertainment:
Joker’s Wild Comedy Club: A fun place to go at night when you want to sit down and laugh. When I was staying at the Atlantis resort they had a hypnotist performing a show which was very exciting. 8/10
Atlantis Theatre: A theatre where you can watch complimentary new releases on the big screen. A fun place to spend your evening after dinner. I had many fun nights at the theatre and I’m sure you will too. 8.5/10

Fun Things To Do

Rides:
Leap of Faith: One of the most exciting water rides I’ve been on.  Very fun but the only problem was that it only lasts a total of about 7 seconds! 7/10
Jungle Slide: A very exciting slide, you travel through jungles and caves on a wild safari while rushing down the slide at a high speed. I personally think this was the best slide I went on. 9/10
Serpent Slide: A slide in the dark where you travel in a corkscrew very quickly and it ends with a slow pass through a clear tunnel where you can view the marine animals. This was also a great slide and if were to rate it, it would be a 8/10.
The Abyss: You start off with a 50ft verticle drop and then go through another 150 feet of slide through the “Power Tower’s ” dark center. You end underground in a prehistoric alligator gar. Definetely one of my favorites. 8/10
The Current/Rapids: A twist on the classic lazy river, this river is not so lazy! You are laying down on your tube while passing over big waves, thrashing rapids, and dark caves! A fun thing to do for the whole family. 8.5/10

Attractions:

The Aquarium: The famous aquarium of the Atlantis resort is not famous for no reason. Many amazing fish reside in this giant aquarium. You start off in an open area in the Royal Towers and follow an “ancient” tunnel through a maze of lobsters, eels, jellyfish, and many other unique fish. 9/10
The Predator Lagoon: This lagoon holds many of Atlantis’ many predatory fish such a sawfish, sharks, barracudas, and many more. You can enter an underwater 100ft long clear tunnel that goes through the predator lagoon from the Lagoon Bar and Grill. Absolutely loved the place and visited it more than once. 8.5/10
Dolphin Cay: A beautiful place where you can swim, feed, watch, ride, and play with the dolphins. A splendid experience for all age groups for there is something to do for everyone. I had lots of fun with the dolphins and it would be a big mistake on your part if you did not try this out. 8/10
As you can see from my review, I loved the Atlantis Resort. I never thought I would have as much fun as I did. I got to spend quality time with my family and at the same time see and try new and beautiful things. If you are not willing to spend a lot of money on a vacation, this is not the vacation for you. I know money’s tight these days, but if you have it, it is definetely worth it.
